Life has a way of changing your direction, even when you're not expecting it.
My husband and I spent a wonderful 10 days in Riveria Maya, Mexico this past month. 80 degrees and sunny sure does good for the soul!
We stayed at the Valentin Imperial Maya resort, located about 20 minutes south of Cancun. We've now been here twice and loved every minute of it - we plan to go back to the VIM again soon.
We returned home to MN to snow and bone chilling temperatures - and were ready to ask the pilot to turn the plane around!!
Alas, the snow wasn't the worst part of our return. I arrived to my office on Monday morning (after a 1.5 hour icy commute! Ack!) and was informed that I no longer had a job.
Um, what?
Yes, welcome back from vacation, we are terminating your position.
So with that, a new chapter begins.
Hubby and I have owned a real estate business for about 5 years. I have my real estate license, we flip houses, etc. We are looking at this recent "employment change" as an opportunity to work on marketing the business and focus on real estate vs. sitting behind a desk.
I have to admit that it's strange waking up in the morning and not having to be at an office at a set time. Being in charge of my own destiny is something that never seemed to be an option before, but now is.
I'm looking forward to a new beginning that starts now.
